As a Columbia native, Kate grew up with an athletic background, playing soccer competitively from a young age and through college. She has always loved exercise and the way it makes her feel. After ending her career in soccer and graduating from the University of South Carolina, she began to look for different types of training other than the fitness style she was used to. She discovered pilates 2 years ago and it completely changed her mindset on fitness. Knowing Karis from childhood and after taking classes with her at the Sunnyside studio, when Kate was asked to come on board and start teaching, it was a no brainer. Kate still enjoys running but has found a true passion for training at The Workout and the impact that pilates has on your mind and body!
