You can be going the extra mile in class but total fitness is not complete without adequate nutrition. What your body is able to do for you on a daily basis is a huge reflection of what you put in your body. "You are what you eat" could not be a truer statement.

A healthy diet is so important in fueling your workouts. You don't want to show up to class after a huge meal but showing up with an "empty tank" isn't ideal either. Eating foods that your body digests easily 1.5-2 hours before class is the way to go! We suggest whole grains, a spinach salad, protein such as eggs, raw nuts, or fish, or some fruit. You will be thankful you stayed away from the sugar filled snacks and the heavy meal!

Reducing inflammation post workout is key to faster muscle repair and decreased soreness, improved overall fitness, and flexibility- and what you eat has the power to help this! You should be incorporating foods that contain anti-inflammatory properties such as blueberries, oranges, ginger, and tumeric into your diet regularly!

Did you know that diet plays a vital role in sleep quality? Consuming lots of fiber through whole grains, fruits, and vegetables helps you sleep better whereas saturated fats and processed sugars result in poorer quality sleep. Without a proper night's rest your body is unable to properly recover and it will only be a matter of time before you crash.

So do yourself a favor and eat a balanced diet! You will see improvements in all aspects of health and wellness guaranteed!
